The name Sancho Abarca carries a legacy rooted in history. Inspired by Sancho Garcés II, King of Pamplona and Count of Aragón, this legendary figure nicknamed Abarca. Outfitted his soldiers with soft, silent footwear known in Spain as abarcas. These shoes allowed his army to move undetected and strike with precision, a simple yet highly effective strategy that secured many victories in the late 10th century.
That same blend of comfort, durability, and smart design lives on in the Sancho Abarca brand. Originally specializing in military boots for European armies, the company quickly rose to become one of Spain’s largest and most respected footwear producers. Today, Sancho Abarca crafts high-quality cowboy, Texan, urban, and biker boots fully made in Spain and built to last.
Each boot is constructed using the traditional Goodyear Welted method, the same durable technique once favored by American cowboys. This allows the soles and heels to be replaced without compromising the integrity of the boot resulting in footwear that’s as long-lasting as it is iconic.
